Features of combine threshing units and increasing the efficiency of grain threshing

Threshing quality directly affects harvesting profitability: reducing grain damage preserves its grade and increases the market value of the produce. Threshing mechanism of these combines is specifically designed for gentle operation at high throughput. This is achieved through the coordinated operation of the threshing drum, reinforced concave, and rotary separator.
For efficient operation in difficult conditions, the design of the threshing mechanism has a number of features:
- increased length and wrap angle of the concave;
- increased rigidity for a stable clearance;
- additional plates under the drum beaters, increasing its mass and moment of inertia to maintain a constant threshing speed.
The concave grate has a non-uniform cross-section: the cells in the rear section are half as large again as those in the front. This creates an optimal balance between threshing quality and the rate of grain discharge from the thresher. If necessary, an additional concave can be installed, and independent adjustment of its front and rear parts is carried out by manual controls from the cab.

An active concave is located under the beater—a combined unit that increases the wrap angle of the rear side of the main drum by an additional 14°. The device is adjusted depending on the humidity and length of the straw, optimizing separation and directing the mass to the straw walker from the rear threshing drum.

Automatic load control and fine adjustments from the cab
For the combine to operate at maximum productivity, its thresher must be fully loaded. In areas with sparse crop stands, the Constant Flow system automatically increases the combine's ground speed by monitoring drum load. Electronic adjustment allows the machine's potential to be utilized at 100% regardless of fluctuations in yield.

Using the Constant Flow system provides a productivity increase for most crops:

The operator controls the concave settings via a touchscreen in the cab, which allows for prompt reaction to changing harvesting conditions. To monitor the accuracy of settings, the system displays current grain losses on the screen. A separate five-position lever is used for quick adjustment of the rotary separator concave, helping to optimize productivity and straw processing quality.

The design of the rotary separator allows the concave to be rotated into a position above the rotor when it is not needed for operation. In this case, the rotary separator acts as an additional rear threshing drum, allowing for increased productivity and preservation of grain quality during harvesting in dry conditions.
