BRASSICACEAE FAMILY Pods dehiscent. Length 12–25 mm. Seeds are oval-plicate-compressed, rounded at the top, flat and slightly concave on one side, and triangular-convex on the opposite side. The radicle and cotyledons are of equal length, making the base almost straight and slightly split by a shallow groove extending 5/6 of the seed length. The seed hilum is covered by a white film, located in a notch. The surface is finely punctate, slightly shiny, rarely matte. The color is yellowish-brown, with a darker base. Length 0.75–1.25 mm, width 0.4–0.5 mm, thickness 0.3 mm. Infests winter crops, irrigated cotton crops, and vegetable gardens; grows along roadsides. Distribution: European part (everywhere except the Far North), Caucasus, Western Siberia, Central Asia, Far East. Toxic properties: indicated above.
