Technical design and features of Monosem sowing units

A robust parallelogram with a large distance to the soil is mounted on replaceable bushings. Two springs stabilize the sowing unit
Each sowing unit is equipped with an audible safety clutch with automatic engagement for optimal protection of the sowing system
The seed placement system consists of two large-diameter discs (380 mm) mounted on sealed ball bearings. Connected to an internal coulter, this system ensures uniform and high-quality seed placement regardless of sowing conditions
Adjustment of the clod deflector is carried out precisely and quickly thanks to an adjustment system with locking pins (12 positions).
The seeder adapts to various conditions using quick-change clod deflectors or rotary crop residue cleaners
Side gauge wheels with sensors are 110 mm wide and ensure optimal control of sowing depth. The positioning of the wheels in the direction of seed fall provides exceptional uniformity of sowing depth, which has earned the seeder universal recognition
Standard high-strength plastic hopper with a volume of 52 liters. The hopper lid locks securely, ensuring continuous filling even in gusty wind conditions
The arms of the side gauge wheel bracket are mounted on interchangeable bushings with helical grooves for better grease distribution. Gauge wheels are assembled with scrapers
The open rear press wheel unit ensures better cleaning on sticky soils
Depth adjustment: Easy depth setting using a manual wheel. This type of adjustment provides greater control precision of sowing depth even for small seed at shallow depths
"GENTLE PLACEMENT" The press wheel has long been used on vegetable and beet seeders. Monosem has adapted this concept to multifunctional seeders by developing a large-diameter wheel – the PRO wheel.
FAN: Monosem fans operate without noise, are reliable and efficient, and create a constant vacuum for optimal operation of each unit. They have 12 outlets for the standard version, a rain cover, an operating monitor, and are driven by a 540 rpm PTO. Additionally, fans for 450 and 1000 rpm PTOs can be used, as well as a drive via a hydraulic motor.
Since the vacuum required by the seeder depends on several parameters (number of units, type of seed, etc.), Monosem makes three models of fans: 1) standard,
2) high capacity, 3) very high capacity.
GEARBOX: A standard gearbox with 18 ratios allows for quick and precise adjustments of sowing density. To do this, raise the lever to loosen the chain, set the required sprocket ratio, and lower the lever to re-tension the chain.
1 – monoblock frame beam
1 – beam for attaching the hitch and fan; 2 – beam for attaching sowing units and wheel units
Rigid monoblock frames can have a beam from 3 m to 4.5 m. This simple and economical frame can be semi-automatic or equipped with a hitch with pins. The small hitch overhang and its weight allow it to be hitched to lightweight tractors. This frame is suitable for a 4- and 6-row corn seeder and a 6-row sugar beet seeder
The rigid monoblock frame is a unit welded from two beams; one beam serves for attaching the hitch and fan, the second one for attaching the sowing units and wheel units. This design is particularly suitable for sowing with an odd number of rows. It can be equipped with a 3 m and 4.5 m beam
TASKS: 1. Calculate the seed sowing rate q (kg) for a certain number of revolutions of the support-drive wheels (usually 15 revolutions are taken) using the formula 15 10 ∙ 2 2. The calculation determines the seed consumption (kg) for two passes of the unit (control weighing) using the formula 2
Determine the marker reach for the left (Lp) or right (Ll), i.e., the distance from the outermost coulter to the marker tip using the formula Vagr + bm – c Vagr + bm + c LP =, LL =.
Determine the marker reach if the unit is guided along the marker track by the sight using the formula: Vagr + bm LP = LL = –L.
