Biological characteristics and types of narcissus
This plant is from the Amaryllidaceae family. It consists of an upright, succulent stem with basal, linear, light-green leaves attached to it.
For cultivation, the following are recommended:
- Incomparabilis narcissus.
- Poeticus narcissus.
- Large-cupped narcissus.
Incomparabilis narcissus. Its flowers consist of a cup-shaped corona, which is positioned level with the edges of the flower. The most frequently encountered cultivars of this type of narcissus are: Fortuna, Folly, and Mary Copeland.
Poeticus narcissus. Has straight, sturdy flower stalks and flowers positioned on them with a flat corona and white perianths. The most decorative cultivars are Actaea (Ornatus) and Recurvus.
Large-cupped narcissus. Flowers with an elegant, long corona and a whitish perianth. For cultivation, such cultivars as Maximus, Madame de Graaff, and Mistress Krelage are recommended.
Narcissus is propagated by dividing bulbs. It prefers well-fertilized and moist soil.
Plant individual bulbs in beds. Planting parameters:

Care for them consists of weeding, loosening the soil, top dressing with mineral and organic fertilizers, and irrigation, which must be systematic and abundant.
Cultivation and types of tulips
Tulip belongs to the Liliaceae family, has flowers of succulent shades on sturdy flower stalks up to 90 cm long, and stiff, lanceolate, light-green leaves.
Several types of tulips are distinguished:
- Darwin tulips.
- Early single tulips.
- Triumph tulips.
Darwin tulips. These are plants with a strong, powerful stem up to 90 cm long, flowers resembling goblets in shape, and stiff leaves. For cultivation, the cultivars Bartigon and Koster are proposed.
Early single tulips. Tulips of this type bloom very early, have cup-shaped flowers of varied coloration, located on sturdy peduncles. The best cultivar is considered to be Sunburst.
Triumph tulips. They have very large, wide, goblet-shaped flowers of bright, succulent colors. The most decorative and widespread are the cultivars Alberio, Telescop, Electra, and Orange Nassau.
Tulips of all types and cultivars are propagated by bulbs, which need to be planted at a depth of 12 cm according to the 15x20 cm pattern. Care for the plantings consists of top dressing with mineral and organic fertilizers, weeding, irrigation, and loosening the soil.
