Viriterra has released the herbicide Perseus SC
North Carolina-based company Viriterra Inc. has introduced the Perseus SC herbicide to the market, providing agricultural distributors and retailers with a new source of pyroxasulfone. The company manufactures this active ingredient on a commercial scale as a vertically integrated basic producer, relying on three plants and more than 300 employees.
Viriterra President and General Manager Jeff Tweedy noted that the company manufactures pyroxasulfone using a non-infringing process and provides distributors with direct access to its technical and commercial team to ensure a reliable supply.
The new product is a Group 15 herbicide formulated as a liquid suspension concentrate. It is designed for residual control or suppression of target annual grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds, including Palmer amaranth, waterhemp, and foxtail species. The product is registered for pre-emergence application and pre-plant treatment; specific application rates, timing, and weed spectrum depend on the crop grown and the application pattern.
