The railway company CN set a record for grain transportation in the 2025–26 season

According to the CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) report released on August 11, 2026, the company transported over 33.8 million metric tonnes (MMT) of grain products from Western Canada during the 2025–26 season. This result surpassed the previous record of 32.6 MMT, set in the 2024-25 season.

July 2026 made a significant contribution to achieving these record figures. During this period, transport volumes reached 2.62 MMT, which became the best July result in the company's history, exceeding the previous 2020 record of 2.43 MMT.

These volumes were achieved thanks to high demand from customers, close cooperation among participants in the grain supply chain, and the implementation of the company's operational plan aimed at increasing network capacity. The company notes that CN's priorities remain the provision of reliable and safe logistics services for agricultural producers, grain companies, and partners.

As part of the preparations for the next season, CN presented the "2026–27 Grain Plan." The document outlines measures to adapt the rail network, resources, and operational processes to the upcoming harvesting campaign.
