The maize harvest in France may reach a 1976 low due to weather conditions.

Climate changes in Europe are leading to significant shifts in the agricultural calendar: due to rising temperatures, the ripening periods of crops have shortened by several weeks. Anomalous heat and long periods of lack of precipitation are causing serious damage to crops in key agricultural regions.

In particular, in France, a significant drop in the production volume of grain maize is forecast, the figures for which may fall to the historical minimum recorded in 1976. A similar trend is observed across the entire European Union, where a sharp decline in the harvest of this crop has been recorded.
