The government of Odisha has entered into agreements for the digitalization of agriculture.

In Bhubaneswar, a signing ceremony for six agreements took place between the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment of the state of Odisha and a number of relevant organizations. Deputy Chief Minister K. V. Singh Deo took part in the event. The government's new partners include the Department of Posts (Odisha Circle), the international non-profit research organization ICRISAT, and the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF).

K. V. Singh Deo noted that these initiatives are aimed at qualitative transformation of the state's agricultural sector. In particular, there are plans to decentralize seed systems and address malnutrition issues at the local level. According to the official, such an approach will allow the region to achieve self-sufficiency in grain legumes and oilseeds, as well as ensure the accessibility of public services for every farm holding.

A special role in the implementation of the agreements is assigned to the "Gramin Dak Sevaks" network. These employees will be involved in the process of registering farmers in the "AgriStack" system and creating their digital IDs. In addition, they have been tasked with facilitating registration in the "CM-Kisan" program, conducting e-KYC procedures within the framework of "PM-Kisan," and ensuring linkage to the Aadhaar system.
