The BATN Foundation allocated 10 million nairas in grants for agribusinesses of NYSC participants
The check presentation ceremony took place on Tuesday at the NYSC pre-orientation seminar (2026 Batch C). The awards were presented to the winners by the Director-General of the Corps, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu.
The overall winner was Olufemi Dominic Fabian, founder of DOHA Prime Venture, which manages the FishTrackPro service. He received 3 million nairas for an agritech solution that helps fish farmers increase productivity using data-driven monitoring and management systems. Second place and 2 million nairas each were awarded to Temitope Adewole, founder of Apem Soupmix (natural powdered soup production), and Abdulwaheed Bala, founder of NutriSoy (soybean processing into food products).
Third place and 1 million nairas each were shared by Olanike Mayungbe of Nutririte Foods (agricultural processing), Iorember Iorsue of Unku Charles Maize Farm (corn production), and Kingsley Udoeyen of Salwel Foods (food processing with a focus on nutrition). The projects cover areas such as agritech, aquaculture, food processing, crop production, and value addition.
NYSC Director-General Nafiu emphasized the role of agriculture in youth empowerment, job creation, entrepreneurship and national economic development, as well as in strengthening food security. He urged state coordinators and SAED staff to actively promote the initiative and engage participants for the next edition of the program in 2027.
The Farmers for the Future Programme is implemented by the BATN Foundation in partnership with the SAED department of the National Youth Service Corps. The initiative combines practical agribusiness training, mentoring, business development support, and financial grants, helping young entrepreneurs build sustainable agricultural enterprises over seven years.
