The authorities of Edo State are seeking investors to modernize livestock production
Roland Igbadumhe, Special Adviser on Livestock Development to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, represented the region at the 35th annual livestock exhibition Sommet de l’Élevage in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The purpose of the trip is to seek global technologies, strategic partners, and foreign direct investment for the development of the state's pasture and livestock sectors.
During the four-day summit, the delegation held technical consultations with French livestock breeding experts, sustainable feed producers, and processing equipment manufacturers. The state representatives presented current initiatives, including the establishment of designated pastures, training programs for farmers, and public-private partnership opportunities in poultry, pig farming, and ruminant livestock production.
The authorities intend to introduce production systems capable of increasing productivity, reducing environmental impact, and improving the profitability of farms. All investment and partnership opportunities identified during the summit will be integrated into the state's livestock development plans in order to strengthen food security, create rural jobs, and diversify the economy.
