Te Ranga Pamu farm has been awarded for biodiversity and achievements in the agricultural sector.

The farm was founded over a century ago and passed down through several generations to the descendants of John Mark. Currently, the farm is managed by Peter Mark and his wife, Megan Richards. Initially, the farm specialized in sheep farming and beef cattle, but the owners later decided to repurpose it into a dairy farm. Jersey cows were chosen for the operation due to their physiological traits, which allow them to adapt more easily to the hilly terrain.

Today, the herd numbers about 275 head, which are being transitioned to a once-a-day milking regimen. This decision has helped improve reproductive performance, the physical condition of the livestock animals, and working conditions for the staff. The owners' daughter, Niamh Mark, is involved in the farm management and works as the farm manager. New technologies are being actively integrated into the family business: drones are used for weed control, and a virtual fencing system is employed for grazing management and livestock health monitoring.

Special attention on the farm is given to sustainable development. Given the challenging terrain, a compost shed measuring 60 by 30 meters was installed, designed to protect the livestock and reduce the risk of soil erosion and nutrient leaching. Additionally, solar panels have been installed on the roof of the cowshed. As part of an environmental program, more than 10,000 native trees have been planted over the last four years on land unsuitable for productive use. This initiative is aimed at creating a corridor for wildlife. Furthermore, a forest classroom has been created on a 0.8 ha site for local primary school classes.

As part of the preparations for handing over management to future generations, the farm's ownership structure is being reorganized into a company. The judges of the Ballance Farm Environment Awards noted the sound succession planning and the owners' ability to combine the profitability of dairy production with a responsible approach to natural resources.
