Seizure of livestock in the military training area
The Central Unit of the Coastal District of the Border Police conducted an operation to identify cases of illegal livestock grazing in the live-fire training zones of the Golani Brigade. The law enforcement actions were the result of targeted intelligence gathering using technical means. Officers from the Enforcement Coordination Unit and the "Green Patrol" also participated in the operation.
During the raid in the training zone, two herds were discovered, totaling about 80 head of livestock. It is assumed that the animals belong to residents of the villages of Muawiya and Ein Ibrahim, located near Umm al-Fahm. The seized livestock was transported to a quarantine facility in the area of Moshav Dor.
The owners of the herds were identified and brought in for questioning at the Central Unit of the Coastal District of the Border Police. Specialists from the Central Enforcement and Investigation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security are also involved in the investigation.
According to the police, administrative measures will be taken against the owners of the livestock. To reclaim the seized animals, the owners will be required to pay the assessed fines. Such grazing practices in military zones have been noted by the police as a cause for the disruption and cancellation of Israel Defense Forces exercises.
