Omnivore's venture fund startups have reached over 20 million farmers in India
According to the 2026 Impact Reports for Omnivore Partners India Fund (OPIF, Vintage 2018) and Omnivore Agrifood and Climate Sustainability Fund (OACSF, Vintage 2023), backed by venture firm Omnivore, agrifood startups reached 20.81 million smallholder farmers and 61,711 rural micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across India. Omnivore's portfolio includes companies such as DeHaat, Arya.ag, Sid’s Farm, Varaha, Farmley, and Pixxel.
The reports note that portfolio companies generated $5.64 billion in cumulative economic value for smallholders both directly and indirectly. Sustainable agriculture was recorded across 11.55 million hectares. Additionally, the metrics track avoided greenhouse gas emissions, volumes of healthy and nutritious food sold to consumers, as well as loans disbursed and insurance coverage provided to rural households and businesses.
Sanskriti Kapoor, Vice President of ESG and Impact at Omnivore, noted that the agrifood sector is building businesses capable of delivering commercial value alongside positive outcomes for farmers, the environment, and rural enterprises. Specifically, in the area of financial inclusion, the portfolio provided $2.18 billion in insurance coverage for rural households and $63.62 million in loans for rural MSMEs.
