Nutrient watershed statistics updated
The updated version of the report titled "Catchment statistics for nutrient pollution in protected areas 2026" has been published, replacing the document "Indicative catchment statistics for nutrient pollution". The main material now includes summary data on nutrient modelling for the covered catchments of protected areas.
In addition, corrections and additions have been made to the first table of the full PDF report. According to the updated information, Natural England's advice regarding nutrient neutrality does not currently apply to the Waveney water body. At the same time, this advice is now relevant for Hornsea Mere, Chesil and The Fleet, as well as for part of the Waveney area.
To review the policy in this area, you are invited to use the material "Nutrient pollution: reducing the impact on protected sites". Developers and other persons engaged in preparing proposals to reduce nutrient levels are addressed by the guidance "Nutrient mitigation: check if you need environmental permissions".
