Nestlé India plans to enter the company's top five key markets.
Currently, the Indian division is among Nestlé's top ten largest markets, demonstrating steady growth in consumer demand. The company plans to reach the top 5 operational markets by actively developing its core product categories, including Maggi culinary solutions, the Nescafé coffee line, confectionery, as well as dairy products and baby food segments.
To implement this strategy, the company is increasing capital investment in infrastructure. Major investments are directed toward the construction of new production sites, in particular a food processing hub in Odisha, and the modernization of existing dairy processing plants in the states of Punjab and Haryana. In parallel, the network of local agricultural raw material supplies is being developed, which is necessary to support growing production capacities.
Product portfolio premiumization has been chosen as a key growth tool. In the Nestlé India portfolio, priority is given to functional nutrition, high-protein dairy products, maternal and infant formula, as well as beverages with added benefits. The use of such high-margin products allows the company to diversify its business and reduce dependence on commodity price fluctuations.
Along with production development, Nestlé India is expanding its distribution channels. The company is actively leveraging e-commerce opportunities and quick-delivery platforms while simultaneously strengthening its position in traditional wholesale networks. Coverage extends to both urban and rural settlements, including tier-2 and tier-3 regions. The sustainability of this model is supported by long-term partnerships with local producers of raw milk and other agricultural products.
