McCain Foods acquires Falcon Agrifriz business in India

Storage and processing

This transaction is aimed at expanding McCain Foods' production capacities in the state of Gujarat, where the company already has operating facilities in Mehsana. The acquisition is intended to support the company's further business growth, meet domestic demand within the country, and strengthen its position in key export markets. The parties chose not to disclose the financial details of the agreement, and the completion of the transaction is subject to the fulfillment of standard closing conditions.

The acquired asset includes a modern potato processing facility in Gujarat, which manufactures frozen products for both the domestic market and foreign supplies. The facility employs over 450 staff members, and the company itself collaborates with more than 1,000 farmers in the region. Following the completion of the transaction, these partnerships are planned to be integrated into the company's overall network of agricultural ties in the country.

As McCain Foods management noted, India maintains the status of a priority market for business development. This investment continues the company's long-standing history of operations in the region, spanning about three decades of investments in local production, personnel, and agricultural partnership. The company looks forward to continuing cooperation with the new employees and farmers, as well as creating jobs and supporting regional industrial development.
