In the Bhojpur region, orange orchards are suffering from a disease outbreak

Fruit growing

Various symptoms of orange tree diseases are being recorded in the region. In addition to premature yellowing, rotting, and dropping of fruit, farmers note the drying of branches, the appearance of white mold on the leaves, leaf curling, and the yellowing of plants as a whole. Furthermore, fruit cracking is observed on the trees.

Tirtha Bahadur Pradhan from Bhojpur Municipality-3 (Gupteshwor), who is engaged in commercial orange cultivation on an area of about 42 ropanis, reported the spread of the disease in the area. Devraj Rai from Temkemaiung-5 rural municipality (Khawa Kerabari), who grows the crop on 15 ropanis and earns up to 500,000 rupees annually, has been facing similar problems for several years, but now records a decline in production.

Bhimraj Bista from Bhojpur Municipality-6 also confirmed the appearance of cracking fruit on the trees. Farmers fear the loss of investments and urge relevant departments and agricultural specialists to urgently conduct an investigation and take measures to control the disease.
