In Katsina State, the military returned 126 head of stolen livestock to their owners.
During security operations conducted by the Operation FANSAN YAMMA unit, an attempt to transport stolen livestock animals was thwarted. According to an official statement by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, military personnel set an ambush on a route used by suspected terrorists in the area of Yankwani village, Bakori district.
Under military pressure, the criminals were forced to abandon the herd and flee. As a result of the operation, 126 head of livestock were recovered: 83 cows and 43 sheep. The recovered animals were handed over to the chairman of the Bakori Peace Committee in the presence of local officials. The procedure was necessary to establish the legal owners and return the property to them.
The unit's command noted the vigilance of the personnel and reaffirmed its intention to continue active operations against terrorist groups in the region to ensure the safety of residents and the security of their property.
