Huma enters the granular fertilizer market with Gro-Power products

Nutrition and fertilizers

Earlier in 2024, Huma acquired the assets of the California-based company Gro-Power, to which it had supplied dry humates for many years. Initially, Gro-Power brand products were supplied primarily to the turf and ornamental crop market in response to high demand, but now the product line is becoming available to American farmers.

Fred Nichols, Director of Sales and Marketing at Huma, noted that humates serve as a carbon platform allowing the company to expand its presence across various applications. According to him, the Gro-Power line seamlessly complements the company's existing portfolio of dry humates, biostimulants, and liquid nutrition products.

The process of integrating Gro-Power into the agricultural sector was led by Michael Gardner — a company veteran, former Huma regional sales manager, and CEO of Gro-Power. With 25 years of experience in crop production as a farmer and a Huma employee, he emphasized the effectiveness of Gro-Power products and expressed readiness to provide customers with additional resources, technologies, and support to improve soil health and optimize harvest.
