Having worked abroad in Malaysia for about six years, Laxmi Prasad Adhikari returned home to his village and started goat farming five years ago. His goal was to invest his earned funds and apply the experience gained abroad in his native place. Today, this business brings him about 150,000 rupees in annual income and serves as his main source of earnings.

According to the farmer, suitable local conditions, the availability of pastures, and grass contribute to the development of livestock. In addition to goat farming, he grows fruits such as mangoes, lychees, and avocados, and uses farm manure as fertilizer for the fruit crops.

Local authorities support such initiatives. Kumar Thapa, chairman of the ward of Arun Rural Municipality-7, stated that the district prioritizes agriculture and livestock. Farmers engaged in commercial agricultural production are provided with tools, equipment, and training to help effectively utilize local resources to generate sustainable incomes and new jobs for returning migrants.
