Farmers in the state of Madhya Pradesh protested, demanding the procurement of their harvest.

A mass protest by farmers of the state of Madhya Pradesh is taking place in Bhopal. The reason for people taking to the streets is the record-breaking mung bean harvest. Agrarians are insisting on the need for full-scale state procurement of the harvested produce at established Minimum Support Prices.

In addition to issues regarding harvest sales, protest participants are expressing dissatisfaction with the existing e-token system used for selling agricultural products. Another important point of their demands is ensuring timely access to affordable fertilizers.

Against the background of the current situation, the state authorities have already appealed to the central government with a request to increase the volume of state procurement of grain legumes.
