Dispute over poultry farm in Ogun: family asks for authorities' intervention

The family of the late Alhaji Ganiyu Busari and the management of Constancy Farms, located in Feere village (Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State), have appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun and President Bola Tinubu. They are asking to stop the reallocation of an 11-acre plot of land housing a poultry farm in favor of a Chinese company.

According to Aziz Busari, the dispute began in 2023 when representatives of the Chinese firm requested a portion of the land for access to another plot. Later, in 2025, the Ogun State Surveyor-General, Oladele Ewulo, informed the family that the remaining territory had been reallocated and they must vacate the premises. In early 2026, part of the farm's fence was demolished. Family representatives state that investments in the project exceeded 1 billion naira, the complex is designed to house 27,000 laying hens with 10,000 replacement pullets, and the business relies on borrowed funds.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy Kayode Akinmade explained that the government has the legal right to revoke the plot because the owners failed to pay the land assessment fee within the prescribed period. He added that the new investor built a new poultry cage for the family on the reallocated plot out of magnanimity, yet the owners refuse to relocate.
