Construction of a road for farmers has begun in Zamfara State
The new road project aims to facilitate the transportation of goods and enhance safety in the Tsafe area. The highway will pass through the settlements of 'Yandoton Daji, Cediya, Doka, 'Yan Waren Daji, Hayin Alhaji Bedi, Unguwar Joji, and 'Yankuzo towards Tsafe, and will also include five bridges. The areas through which the road runs are populated predominantly by farmers.
The project is being implemented in two phases. The first 47 km section has been awarded to SKY Construction Company, while the second phase covers 48 km and is being carried out by Setraco Construction Company Limited. As Governor Dauda Lawal noted, quality infrastructure is essential for safe movement, efficient transport of goods, and economic growth.
The road construction will improve the mobility of security agencies and their response speed to threats. The work is being carried out as part of a broader infrastructure renewal program in Zamfara State, which also includes the rehabilitation of the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau, Zurmi–Rukudawa, and Mallamawa–Bukkuyum roads with a spur to Masamar Mudi.
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has been instructed to ensure strict supervision and compliance with engineering standards. The state authorities expect high-quality execution of work by contractors for the long-term development of the region.
