As part of a £13 million government investment program, implemented with the support of the European Space Agency, the development of new technological solutions for the agricultural sector has begun. One of the 16 initiatives that received grant support is the GAUFF project from the company Farmer Charlie.

The essence of this development lies in creating affordable sensors with satellite communication support. Using such devices will allow farmers to receive real-time, up-to-date data on the condition of their land and crops. It is expected that the implementation of the technology will help optimize production processes, increase yield, and reduce losses through more precise and rational farm management.

According to forecasts, the new technology will be available for widespread use by the end of next summer. As the developers note, combining low-cost sensors with satellite communication capabilities will simplify informed management decision-making, increase productivity, and ensure a transition to more sustainable agricultural practices throughout the UK.

This initiative is part of the European Space Agency's ARTES program, aimed at developing advanced telecommunications systems. Investments in such innovations are intended to strengthen the position of the British space sector, contributing to the creation of new jobs and the introduction of high-tech solutions into various spheres of everyday life and the economy.
