Asian rice export prices are rising against the backdrop of the situation in India
Indian export quotes for rice rose to their peak values for the first time in over 12 months. This happened against the backdrop of a strengthening rupee and concerns regarding crop supplies.
Price increases are also being recorded in other countries of the region. In particular, rice prices in Vietnam are increasing, and high demand from the Philippines is expected in November. In Vietnam, the price increase is associated with delays due to floods and intensified purchasing ahead of the end of the season. Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, the rise in paddy prices has led to higher product costs for end consumers who are facing difficulties due to high living expenses.
