Registration for participants in the 2027 New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards has started in New Zealand. The project is being held for the 38th time and aims to recognize the best professionals in the dairy industry, as well as to promote their professional growth.

The competition covers three main categories: Share Farmer of the Year, Dairy Manager of the Year, and Dairy Trainee of the Year. The program also includes the Fonterra Responsible Dairying Award, Fonterra and ASB First Farm Award, and ASB Alumni of the Year Award nominations.

As program General Manager Robin Congdon reported, participation in the competition provides opportunities for benchmarking, networking, and working with mentors. The total prize pool of the competition exceeds 1 million dollars and is formed by sponsors through machinery, technology, livestock management tools, and other types of support.

Regional competitions will be held in 11 regions of the country, including the new North Waikato/Hauraki region, which was established following boundary changes. The winners of the regional stage will advance to the national final, which will take place in Christchurch on May 15, 2027.
