An agricultural support program took place in Ogun State.

During the second phase of the agricultural support program held in Ilaro, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola distributed a wide range of agricultural resources to farmers. The list of equipment provided included 10 tractors with full sets of attachments, 250 cargo tricycles, 17 walk-behind tractors, 1,500 knapsack sprayers, 1,000 seeders, as well as 1,000 solar- and gasoline-powered water pumps. In addition, participants received improved seed, seedlings, organic fertilizer, and 8,000 bags of NPK and urea fertilizer. Each program beneficiary also received a cash grant of 100,000 naira.

The objective of the initiative is to address low labor productivity in the sector, high machinery costs, and limited access to finance. According to the senator, this step complements the federal program for ensuring food security. To ensure the long-term efficiency of the provided mechanized equipment, a special central management group has been established to oversee its operation.

During the event, the work of the federal government aimed at infrastructure development and the intensification of crop production was highlighted. Specifically, this refers to the allocation of over 350 billion naira for irrigation projects aimed at transitioning to a three-season-per-year agricultural system, as well as investments through the National Agricultural Development Fund. The creation of the Ministry of Livestock was also mentioned, with plans to develop farming operations in Ogun State and six other states.

Solomon Adeola praised the contribution of the Ogun State government, which had previously distributed resources worth 700 million naira and provided youth with access to free land usage. As part of a previous phase of the senator's similar program, 5,910 farmers have already received support.
