GREENHOUSES AND COVERS G

Calmness, cleanliness, and order — this is what fans of the Scandinavian style find for themselves. Its distinctive features in interior design are a Nordic character, northern restraint, quality, and even austerity. Long winters and a lack of bright colors have long fostered a love for cozy homes in Scandinavia. Thus, its main attributes were formed — natural materials, simplicity, and bold accents.

A winter garden in the Scandinavian style suits literally any house and does not require lengthy design work. It is rightfully considered one of the most "disciplined" — there is a minimum of furniture here, and nothing superfluous. Scandinavia is perfectly suited for implementation in a winter garden, as huge attention is paid to natural light. In a winter garden setting, this requirement is met by default, and if you decide to hang curtains, they should be light and translucent. Since there is not much natural light in northern countries, Scandinavian designers usually use a huge number of light fixtures. These can be table lamps with fabric shades, floor lamps, ceiling lights of various shapes and sizes, and other light sources.

For the garden itself, two details are mandatory — a lawn and an artificial pond, surrounded by a small meadow of a natural look with wild plants. Moreover

A winter garden in the Scandinavian style, this pond can be very symbolic and look like a rough wooden tub with water. All forms here represent squares.

You can also create a heather garden and use large stones. Stones are generally a separate element of the Scandinavian style. They should be natural and "wild," in the form of boulders. Such a garden is often also called a "container" garden, as small containers and bench-boxes are everywhere here. At the same time, you can place a stone bench, or even a brick one. However, the best option is an ordinary log hewn like a beam. The main thing to remember when recreating Scandinavia in your home is the principle of simplicity. Often, wood is painted, and if the overall color scheme of the garden is quite restrained and strict, then individual interior details can be painted in bright colors — blue or orange. It is desirable to choose plants with unusual, preferably bright foliage. The flowers are mainly simple, mimicking wildflowers.

Furniture for a Scandinavian garden is usually chosen to be wicker or wooden. Wickerwork is generally widely used here. These can be baskets, screens, hanging panels, and even garden figurines. You can give free rein to your imagination and use elements of everyday life from the past for decoration (for example, old cart wheels, watering cans, or utensils).

High-tech winter garden

A high-tech winter garden is interesting in itself. Unlike classical styles, it offers more opportunities for realizing your fantasies. This style originated in architecture in the 80s of the 20th century, and it manifests itself primarily through the use of modern materials. Fans of this style are usually lovers of megacities and parties, striving for everything new and stylish. More often, high-tech finds appreciation among young people.

A high-tech winter garden is metal, aluminum, plastic, and glass. As a rule, geometric shapes and conciseness reign here. Such an interior can be compared to a spaceship or a dwelling of the future. The maximum task is to use the available space as functionally and practically as possible. At the same time, even such elements as pipes or engineering communications, which are unusual in this role, carry their own stylistic imagery. Thus, all metal and glass parts, joints, fasteners, and structures become decoration. Pipes, fittings, air ducts, beams, and cables look absolutely organic — they can even be intentionally put on display.

An important element of such a design is lighting. The more of it, the better. Glass floor lamps, lamps, and a multitude of small light bulbs will fit perfectly into the interior. Moreover, they should be positioned exclusively with consideration for their functionality and at different levels: overhead lighting, side lighting, floor-level lighting; light fixtures can even be mounted into the floor. In a word, a high-tech winter garden should literally shimmer with light.

Along with metal, exposed decorative brickwork and synthetic materials can be used in the finishes. You can use anything: plaster, liquid or 3D wallpaper, paint, linoleum, laminate, etc. This is probably one of the few styles where no attention is 6 Greenhouses, hotbeds... 161 K. K k \ |:

In a high-tech winter garden, little attention is paid to decorations, while the main emphasis is placed on the quality and functionality of the materials.

Furniture for the high-tech style should be lightweight, with clear geometric shapes. Chairs, armchairs, or a sofa can be made of polished metal, synthetic leather, or even plastic. The main message is practicality and convenience. Shelving units or shelves on a metal frame will look good. To maintain the image of a kind of spaceship, the surfaces need to be even, smooth, and shiny.
